Copies of records (1633-63) of Charlestown relating to land deeds and grants by Squaw Sachem of Mistick and her husband Webcowites to the inhabitants of Charlestown, including verifications and depositions taken in a dispute and court action in which Squaw Sachem unsuccessfully charged the landowners with encroachment; land deeds, legal documents, and other papers (1714-1807) of the Lamson family; records, accounts, and other papers of the Phoenix Bank and its president, Joseph Hunnewell, relating, in part, to the failure of the bank and proceedings against William Wyman incidental to bankruptcy; and drafts of a rebuttal (1829), probably by Harrison Gray Otis, to charges by John Quincy Adams in the "National intelligencer" (1828) of a plot (1803-15) by Massachusetts Federalists to dissolve the union in protest against the annexation of Louisiana and the Embargo.
